The number of lawyer-wanted ads in New Jerseys
legal newspapers is down 4.5 percent this year, while the drop in
ads for support staff is steeper at 26 percent. But legal recruiters
say the declines reflect only economic caution,
and have not been dramatic. Firms agree: We're just not being
luxurious about it, says one hiring partner, adding that the
firm is simply forgoing that extra pair of hands.
