David Bonsall is the Chairman of Strategic Legal Solutions. He holds two masters law degrees from Cambridge University, where he also played golf for the University. He was a partner from 1987 to 1993 with Freshfields, the international law firm now known as Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. He practised widely in the corporate finance and capital markets arena and spent three years in the firm's New York office. In 1993 he became the European Head of Asset Backed Finance for Union Bank of Switzerland, subsequently becoming the Global Head in 1997 and responsible for over 60 individuals around the world specialised in all forms of securitisation and structured finance. He left UBS after the merger with Swiss Bank Corporation, taking 20 of his team to set up an International Securitisation team at Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce based in London. He retired from the firm in April 2000 and helped in the establishment of Strategic Legal Solutions in the summer of 2001.

Betsy Fitzgibbons is Chief Executive Officer of Strategic Legal Solutions. She holds a Masters of Business degree from Fordham University and a Bachelor of Arts from Mount Holyoke College. After university, Betsy spent several years working as an M&A legal assistant at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, LLP in New York and London. Upon completion of her MBA, she spent seven years at Colgate-Palmolive Company, working in its Global Business Development group, its US subsidiary, and its European division overseeing various marketing/management/sales projects. Betsy joined Strategic Legal Solutions in September 2005.

Associates' Biographies

Melanie Healy is a business development consultant at Strategic Legal Solutions. She holds a Law degree from the University of Wales. After being called to the Bar and completing pupillage in a commercial set Melanie moved to Clifford Chance. There she was an assistant for 5 years working in the Banking and Finance Department. Melanie left Clifford Chance to concentrate on a work/life balance. She started a family, studied marketing and arts administration, worked for an internet company and for Endsleigh Fishing Club Limited. She joined Strategic Legal Solutions in January 2004.
