Jay Horowitz is CEO of Strategic Workforce Solutions and is co-founder of its legal division Strategic Legal Solutions (SLS), which debuted in 1995 as Strategic Legal Resources (SLR). Horowitz leads all client development, strategic partnerships, mergers & acquisitions and geographic expansion for the company.

In 1998, Horowitz launched MyBestLawyer (MBL), an Internet-based international legal referral service, which merged with SLR in 2000, furthering SLR’s geographic and technological expansion goals. In 2001, under
Horowitz’s leadership, SLR acquired a multi-disciplinary placement agency, resulting in the new entity Strategic Workforce Solutions (see corporate history).

Prior to his entrepreneurism, Horowitz spent nine years as a real estate attorney at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom — one of the world’s largest law firms, consistently ranked in the top 10 nationally — where he managed legal staff on multi-million dollar transactions and participated in the firm’s recruitment program. This extensive knowledge of legal services from both corporate and law firm perspectives makes him a valuable leader to Strategic.

A native of New York City, Mr. Horowitz received his B.A. from Brown University in 1982 and his J.D./M.B.A. from Columbia University in 1986. He lives in Manhattan and is a formerly ranked U.S.T.A. Eastern Division tennis player. Horowitz also participates in several charities, including the New York Junior Tennis League for city children and the Student-Sponsor Big Brother and Tutorial Partnership.
