Jay Horowitz is CEO of Strategic Workforce Solutions
and is co-founder of its legal division Strategic
Legal Solutions (SLS), which debuted in 1995 as Strategic Legal
Resources (SLR). Horowitz leads all client development, strategic
partnerships, mergers & acquisitions and geographic expansion
for the company.
In 1998, Horowitz launched MyBestLawyer (MBL), an
Internet-based international legal referral service, which merged
with SLR in 2000, furthering SLRs geographic and technological
expansion goals. In 2001, under
Horowitzs leadership, SLR acquired a multi-disciplinary placement
agency, resulting in the new entity Strategic Workforce Solutions
(see corporate history).
Prior to his entrepreneurism, Horowitz spent nine
years as a real estate attorney at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher
& Flom one of the worlds largest law firms, consistently
ranked in the top 10 nationally where he managed legal staff
on multi-million dollar transactions and participated in the firms
recruitment program. This extensive knowledge of legal services
from both corporate and law firm perspectives makes him a valuable
leader to Strategic.
A native of New York City, Mr. Horowitz received his
B.A. from Brown University in 1982 and his J.D./M.B.A. from Columbia
University in 1986. He lives in Manhattan and is a formerly ranked
U.S.T.A. Eastern Division tennis player. Horowitz also participates
in several charities, including the New York Junior Tennis League
for city children and the Student-Sponsor Big Brother and Tutorial
Partnership.
